The smallest of the ghost crabs found on Christmas Island.  Ocypode sinensis and Ocypode cordimanus are the only Ocypode species without the stridulatory ridge on the inner surface of the claw. Until recently this species had been misidentified as O.
cordimanus throughout its range apart from China. Only recently discovered on Christmas Island.
