Crabs of Christmas Island

A medium size crab with a carapace to 45 mm wide. Overall creamish white with mottled light brown markings on top of carapace. Not much is known about this crab as it has been rarely reported but is easily separated from the superficially similar Smooth-handed ghost crab by its broader carapace, presence of a stridulatory ridge, and differently proportioned legs and eyes.
